Queen Elizabeth II’s Favorite Foods

By Jennifer

When it comes to food Queen Elizabeth’s tastes are mostly traditional. Of course, like the Queen Mum, one of her favorite beverages was a nice gin mixed with Deboned on ice with a nice slice of lemon.  The drink became a favorite during the Diamond Jubilee and was renamed the Diamond Dubonnet.  A fun fact about this Normally she enjoys this stiff drink just before bed time.

Traditionally her Royal Highness eats a very healthy breakfast that consists of corn flakes and Special K.   This is often topped with dried fruit and macadamia nuts.

Lunch for the reigning Queen is usually very simple and health.  A typical offering would be a grilled Dover sole, placed on a bed of wilted spinach.

At team her favorite food is another simple one. Home made bread and butter and strawberry or raspberry jam sandwiches.  Her favorite fruit is peaches.  She also enjoyed fresh berries that she would pick with the family and then enjoy with clotted cream later at dinner.

Her tastes tend to be simple and when she dines alone she usually just has a dish of fruit.  If  she has sandwiches the crusts must be cut off. She does not like spicy or exotic food and likes plainer dishes like Coronaton chicken.

The Queen is very considerate and tells her Royal Chef to prepare any favorite foods of other members of the family. For instance if Prince William is over then she will tell the chef to cook Chocolate Biscuit Cake which is one of his favorites.

When it comes to dessert her main passion is chocolate. She loves chocolate cake and forbears her favorite was a royal specialty called the Chocolate Perfection pie. Other cake favorites include ginger cake, honey and cream sponge cake and chocolate éclairs.  Another favorite royal treat are Jam Pennies. These are coin sized raspberry jam sandwiches that are cut into circles the size of an old English penny.

Queen Elizabeth also enjoys wild game or fish fro m the land such as venison or salmon from Balmoral or pheasant from Sandringham.  A traditional roast beef and potato dish is also one of her favorites, especially for Sunday lunch at the palace.

At all times of the day her favorite kind of tea is Darjeeling!  Also, in case you were wondering, Queen Elizabeth has never cooked a meal in her life.  She hates waste and her kitchen staff and footmen usually get to enjoy any leftovers.
