Lady Diana Collectibles

There is probably nothing more British, except for the Queen herself, than the legend of Lady Diana, especially in contemporary times. The life and death of Lady Diana is still a very profitable business. You can buy all kinds of items with her picture on it including dolls, stamps, coins, mugs, figurines, magazines, t-shirts, collectors plates, paperweights and limited edition jewellery.

Every year new coveted collectibles to do with the People’s Princess come out. In 2012 a coveted collectible is the Princess Diana Bride Figurine:  Princess of Our Hearts. These are limited edition figurines that are put out every year by The Bradford Exchange. The one for 2012 is called “Alabaster Enchantment” and features her in a white gown with little blue sapphire earrings.

A sought after figurine of Diana is the Franklin Mint portrait Doll that features her wearing her famous white beaded gown and bolero jacket with a tiara set with Swarovski crystals and fake pearls Her accessories include a satin rose and a little clutch purse.

Another popular collectible is what is known as “The Most Famous Engagement Ring in The World.” This was the ring that Prince Charles gave to Diana and that was in turn passed down to Kate Middleton to wear for her wedding day. This handcrafted solid sterling ring is simulated.  The Bradford exchange has been offering this ring for years, but under the moniker of Lady Diana’s ring.

The Franklin Mint also put out another Diana doll that is valued around 200 dollars now shows her wearing an emerald dress, and satiny emerald choker and earrings.

One sought after collectible collection is the official tribute to Princess Diana that was officially put out by Buckingham palace. This consists of 5 stamps and one combative coin.

Many specialty collectible companies are also selling portraits of the Princess and tributes with saying that have to do with her 50th birthday. That is because, if the Princess would have lived, she would be 51 today.

Any magazine with Lady Diana on the cover is also worth a little bit of money. Some of her best photos were taken on the cover of Paris Match including pictures of her having fun on the beach with Dodi Fayed and early wedding pictures.

Also quite common are the English rose plates that were put out by almost every English China company in Britain. These plates usually feature a picture of the princess as well as a white rose, either raised or in the pattern of the china plate.
