Potter and Moore Fragrances

By Jennifer

John Potter and William Moore, both born in the late 1800s are responsible for the creation of Potter and Moore Fragrances which is one of the oldest lines in Britain. They founded the business in 1749 and at the time cultivated  flowers and herbs that became the basis of various individual perfumes. Each creation has become a classic. If you are shopping for fragrances at TheFragranceShop.co.uk be sure to pick up a TheFragranceShop Coupon Codes from UKCouponCodes.com . The goal of these perfumers was to create scents to serve every mood.  They would harmonize various wildflowers to make products for body and bath.  Lavender was a particular specialty and to this day their products contain heritage and rare lavender distillations.  This company is stuffy with real roots in the past and very traditional.

The lines created by the company are very simple and have been around for hundreds a y ear.  Their most well known line is called English Classics and they have been around since 1749.  The five main lines are Lavender and Italian Lemon,  Spiced Tuberose and Orchid, Bergamot and Green Ginger and Orange Flower and Amber.

All of the lines smell very natural and yet still a bit exotic. It is rare to find perfumes and body creams of any kind with only two ingredients in it and nothing else.

The British conquest of the Far East is evident in the construction of these colognes as well. For instance green ginger, orange flower and amber are definitely ingredients from that region. The Italian lemon is quite a bitter sharp lemon that blends well with the wild and herbal smell of the lavender.

Many of the flowers used in these blends have been found in ordinary English gardens for thousands of years. These include the tiny waxy tuberose flower which is a hardy English Rose.

Each fragrance is very different than the other so that a woman shopping for them can choose the one that is best for her.  For instance the Orange Flower and Amber fragrance might suit an older, sensuous woman who likes heavier musky scents.  The Bergamot and Green Ginger has a lighter citrus hit to it and the Spiced Tuberose and Orchid would be for the younger sexy woman who is a bit dangerous.

The Lavender and Italian lemon scent is very proper and very British yet also very hip. The company sells hundreds of thousands of lemon and lavender candles, crèmes and body products every year.  The thrill is to know that Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth II , Wallace Simpson and other famous women in British history might have been wearing the same scent the way you are today.
