The Official Queen’s Diamond Fine Bone China
If it says it’s by Brittania, which is the name of the Queen’s Royal Yacht, then it is an official Diamond Jubilee Gift. There is a big range of official porcelain china that have been commissioned by Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. It is officially part of the Royal Collection of Diamond Jubilee gifts that are sanctioned by Buckingham Palice.
The Fine Bone China that celebrates the Diamond Jubilee consists of several individual pieces. Each is hand crafted in Staffordshire using traditional methods that have not been changed for 250 years. The collection includes a mug, a China side plate, A Domed Pill Box, a China Tankard, a China Hinge clock, a Lion Head Beaker, an official China Commerative Plate, a Charger Plate, a Diamond plate, a Loving Cup, a mini-loving cup, a tea cup and saucer, a bauble that hangs by a ribbon (looks like a hanging Christmas tree decoration made out of fine china, a Gadroon plate and cup. a China Bear with a shopping bag, and a China Corgi.
The demand for the little china corgi is also very high and everywhere you look online it is out of stock. The corgi is a decorative paperweight that shows one of the Queen’s favourite dogs decorated with the royal blanket that was used at Queen Elizabeth’s coronation ceremony in Westminster Abbey. The small sculpture also features the Orb, the Sword, the Scepter and the St Edward’s Crown; the crown jewels of England. The eagle that held the holy oil that anointed the Queen’s head is also part of the sculpture.
There is also two Limited Edition pieces that will rise in value over the time. This is a Loving Cup and Charger Plate that, like the rest of the collection, is individually cast and decorated by hand. Each piece consists of several layers of burnished gold as well as a top, hand applied layer of 22 carat gold. A loving cup is a vessel that looks like a short mug with a “waist” and that has two handles on either side.
The china design bears The Royal Coat of Arms and it is on every piece. The borders on the China are based on the famous Rockingham China service that was manufactured between 1830 and 1837 and who was well known for collecting and being a patron of fine China. The china border pattern, which is a delicate series of oak leaves was first used at Queen Victoria’s coronation banquet. These gifts are real heirlooms.
