Classic British Toiletries
If you walk into a powder room or bathroom anywhere in Britain you are likely to see these quintessentially British toiletries on the shelves. Most bathrooms have a bar of odorless glycerin based Pears transparent soap in them. Pears soap is an old UK stand-by and a superior product as well.
Wright’s coal tar soap is a common sight. It is used to treat acne, skin conditions and bug-bites. You can also take a lot of heavy grease off your hands with it. This is a tan colored soap with iconic woven look to the soap’s texture. Iconic British men soaps include Imperial Leather, which is foamy enough to shave with and smells like after shave.
Other popular soaps are the Fairy Brantley novelty soaps. For instance the Bronnley Lemon and Neroli scented soap looks exactly like a real lemon. The Bronnley Lime and Bergamot brand looks exactly like a lime picked fresh off of a tree. Fairy is and Irish-made soap that is more delicate and meant for either men or women to use.
Radox is a popular and common brand of bath salts that is found in every drug store in Britain. Radox makes herbal and mineral bath soaks, including ones that are meant to have vapors to clear congested chests. These bath liquids come into powders and liquids. Some of the herbal formulas are concocted to help you sleep better or be alert in the morning. The Radox Awaken formula contains citrus and tropical elements. The Radox Sleepy Time formula contains Jasmine and Chamolile.
Instead of perfumes a lot of British women use body sprays. The Impulse brand is very affordable and comes in scents like Impulse Siren (a blend of cedar and water lilies) or Goddess (which is a blend of citrus and oriental spices.)
However many bathrooms also contain the famous Woods of Windsor perfume. This is a company that makes hand creams, talcs, fine soaps and body powders in classy English style scents as Lily of the Valley, Mimosa, Windsor Rose, White Jasmine, Lavender, Lemon, True Rose and Forget Me Not. All this is an older company known for paper and floral packaging the company is now more contemporary and packaging their soaps in tins with bright and appealing photographs of flowers and fruits into hem.
To keep bathrooms smelling fresh almost every British household has Zoflora disinfectant on hand. These deodorizing agents come in scents like Hyacinth, Flowershop, Springtime and Lavender.
