Kate and William’s Favorite Healthy Foods
Kate and William are favorites of the people and are known for being diverse, yet healthy eaters. Kate, when not pregnant, is a size two and the prince is known for being very fit and athletic. They are young, eat organic and have been known to share very exotic dishes like Kangaroo at London’s gourmet restaurant Archipelago.
The very British Kate keeps slim with foods like organic Muesli. That is a healthy organic porridge that consists of uncooked rolled oats, nuts, chopped up apple and blueberries. Sometimes she has steel-cut Irish oats with whole meal toast and tea.
Both royals are fond of “unconstructed gazpacho” which is a mix of tomatoes, avocado, peppers, onions and garlic mixed with garlic oil. Just think of all of the ingredients that go into a gazpacho and instead of whipping it all up in the Cuisine art or chopper, simply cut them into pieces and eat as a salad.
Wild salmon is abundant in English and Scottish streams. Steamed fish and escarole with lemon is bundled up in a parchment packet. This is the perfect food for keeping Kate as a size two. They are also fond of barbecued salmon accompanied by healthy coleslaw. The Prince is often spotted at local eateries eating good old-fashioned battered fish and chips.
At home the pair are said to enjoy hearty Italian dishes. Sausage and three cheese lasagna is said to be a favorite of William. Another comfort food beloved by the couple is Shepherd’s pie but they make theirs with ground beef instead of lamp and a winter squash puree topping rather than a mashed potato one.
A favorite cocktail of Lady Middleton is called a Monkey Lada. This is a low fat Pina Colada made with coconut beverage. Kate has also been seen enjoying cheeseburgers on occasion; another “guilty pleasure” of the duchess.
The classic British dessert that is said to be her favorite is Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake. This is a very heavy cake coated in sugar and a dollop of fresh whipping cream.
Both Kate and William are fond of Banana Flan, which has a royal history. It was served by Queen Elizabeth to both William and Henry. It was also a favorite food of Lady Diana. The flan was sometime served with whipped cream or a heaping serving of caramelized walnuts on top. It is a traditional but sentimental food for the Royal family.
